We are partnering with a leading construction equipment giant to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team in San Antonio, TX.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the design and development of innovative access equipment used across construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
The role is well-suited to a senior-level engineer with a background in mechanical systems, electrical engineering, hydraulics, powertrain, structural design, or controls engineering, who is looking to play a key role in new product development and engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop components and systems for aerial work platforms, from concept through production.
Lead or contribute to new product development (NPD) initiatives, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance standards are met.
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, testing, and supply chain teams.
Support prototype builds, validation testing, and product improvement initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where applicable.
Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred, but not essential.
Proven experience in product design within sectors such as AWP, construction equipment, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment.
Strong technical background in one or more of the following: hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrain, structures, or controls.
Experience with new product development processes.
Previous team leadership or project management experience is highly desirable.
Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
