Our client is a tier 1 global OEM introducing a new product line. In this role you will own hydraulic system performance across a full equipment portfolio. This is a senior-level role offering end-to-end product responsibility, from concept through production, within a highly integrated engineering and manufacturing environment.
The client will consider a Relocation Package within the US and Canada on an individual basis for this role.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, you will lead the development of hydraulic systems that power next-generation boom lifts and scissor lifts. Working within an OEM structure, you will influence product architecture, collaborate closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams, and ensure systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability in production.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead hydraulic system design and integration across new product development and existing product improvements.
• Define system architecture and optimize circuits to meet OEM targets for performance, durability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Develop detailed schematics and simulation models covering flow, pressure, thermal performance, and dynamic response.
• Specify and validate components including pumps, valves, cylinders, manifolds, and accumulators in alignment with approved supplier strategies.
• Drive prototype builds, commissioning, validation, and design release into production.
• Partner closely with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and test teams to ensure seamless product industrialization.
• Ensure full compliance with ANSI, CSA, CE, ISO, and other relevant global standards.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to standardization of hydraulic design practices across the organization.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Fluid Power, or related field.
7+ years of hydraulic engineering experience within an OEM environment in AWP, construction, or agricultural equipment.
• Strong expertise in fluid power systems, proportional control, load holding, and functional safety.
• Demonstrated experience supporting full product lifecycle within a manufacturing-driven organization.
• Solid understanding of DFM/DFA, production processes, supplier integration, and cost-down initiatives.
• Experience with hydraulic simulation tools such as Automation Studio or similar platforms.

To be eligible for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
• The types of hydraulic systems you have designed for mobile machinery or ideally MEWPs
• The experience you have with load holding, safety valves, and proportional control.
• How you approach hydraulic safety and fault conditions.
Your experience working closely with controls or electrical engineers on system integration.
• Describe your experience supporting hydraulic testing, troubleshooting, or field issues.
