Our client is a leading infrastructure specialist is seeking a high-calibre Regional Senior Commercial Manager to spearhead commercial operations across the South of England.

This pivotal role focuses on delivering complex Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) workstreams within the highly regulated Water and Rail sectors.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensuring that regional projects remain commercially viable, risks are mitigated, and long-term client relationships are strengthened through transparent and professional contract management.

The Role

• The Regional Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the financial health and contractual integrity of a diverse portfolio.
• Financial Oversight: Managing the regional P&L, providing accurate cost forecasting, and ensuring robust cash flow management across all M&E frameworks.
• Contract Management: Administering NEC4 and JCT contracts with precision, managing variations, and overseeing claims and dispute resolution processes.
• Strategic Leadership: Leading and mentoring a regional team of Commercial Managers and Quantity Surveyors, fostering a culture of commercial awareness and professional development.
• Procurement & Supply Chain: Overseeing the procurement strategy for sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure value for money and adherence to project specifications.
• Risk Mitigation: Identifying commercial risks at the earliest opportunity and implementing effective mitigation strategies to protect the business’s interests.

The Person

• The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with M&E delivery in heavy infrastructure environments.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
• Extensive experience within the Water (AMP7/8) or Rail (CP6/7) sectors.
• Proven expertise in M&E commercial delivery, understanding the nuances of specialised equipment and technical installations.
• Expert-level knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at a senior level.
